Lucas Foglia

Lucas Foglia (born 1983) is an American fine art photographer known for photographic stories exploring the relationship between humans, nature, and technology. Raised on a small farm with his extended family in New York, Foglia draws from his rural upbringing to document intentional communities, environmental challenges, and human interactions with the natural world across the United States and internationally. He earned a BFA from Brown University in 2005 and an MFA in photography from Yale University in 2010.

Foglia's photographs are held in the permanent collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the International Center of Photography in New York, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. In 2024, he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for his project on butterfly migration.
