Life Peerages Act 1958
Life peers created under the Life Peerages Act do not, unless they also hold ministerial positions, receive salaries. They are, however, entitled to an allowance of £371 for travel and accommodation for each day on which the peer "signs in" to the House, though the peer does not have to take part in the business of the House.
