1972–1985: Kansas City–Omaha/Kansas City Kings
After moving to Kansas City, the Royals renamed themselves the Kings to avoid confusion with the Royals baseball team. Now dubbed the Kansas City–Omaha Kings, the team split its home games between the 7,316-seat Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri and the 9,300-seat Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska.
