Ice Princess

Ice Princess is a 2005 American teensportscomedy-drama film directed by Tim Fywell, written by Hadley Davis from a story by The Princess Diaries creator Meg Cabot and Davis. It stars Joan Cusack, Kim Cattrall, Michelle Trachtenberg and Hayden Panettiere. The film focuses on Casey Carlyle, a normal teenager who gives up a promising future academic life in order to pursue her new-found dream of being a professional figure skater.

The film was released by Walt Disney Pictures on March 18, 2005, to mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office, grossing $25.7 million during its theatrical run against a production budget of $25 million. It has since gained a cult following, especially in the aftermath of the early passings of Trachtenberg and Panettiere.
