Hutt City Council

Hutt City Council (abbr. HCC; Māori: Te Awa Kairangi) is the territorial authority for the city of Lower Hutt, New Zealand. It serves as the city's local government alongside the Greater Wellington Regional Council as the regional council. From 1989 to 1991 the authority was known as Lower Hutt City Council.
The current council has existed since the 1989 local government reforms, prior to which local government in the area was split between four local authorities.
The governing body of the council has 13 councillors and is chaired by the mayor of Lower Hutt (currently Ken Laban since October 2025). There are also two community boards.
