Finnish

The Parliament's Finnish name is eduskunta, uncapitalized. First attested in 1853 in Daniel Europaeus' Finnish-Swedish dictionary with the meaning 'Assembly of Representatives', it was used to refer to e.g. the United States House of Representatives. The term was introduced into the Finnish law when the unicameral parliament was established in 1906. Until the 1950s, eduskunta could be used as a general term for legislatures in any country, but nowadays it is only used for the Finnish parliament.
