For any successful commercialsystem, it means deriving profits by making the best quality of goods or the best quality of services available to end-users (customers) at the best possible cost. Other business goals include retaining independence, personal satisfaction for business owners, and making a social contribution. For public bodies, goals include achieving improvement and demonstrating value for money, promoting democracy, and protecting people.
