ASDEX Upgrade (Axially Symmetric Divertor Experiment) is a divertortokamak at the Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, Garching that went into operation in 1991. At present, it is Germany's second largest fusion experiment after stellarator Wendelstein 7-X.
