Antarctic circles of latitude

The following are circles of latitude between the 60th parallel south and the South Pole. Although the 55th parallel south, crossing the southernmost point of Chile, is the last line of latitude moving southward to touch any part of any continent other than Antarctica, the 60th parallel south defines the northern limit of the Antarctic Treaty System and thus the political boundary of Antarctica.
