2007 inter-Korean summit

The 2007 inter-Korean summit was a meeting between South Korean president Roh Moo-hyun and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il held between 2 October and 4 October 2007, in Pyongyang. It is the second inter-Korean summit following the 2000 inter-Korean summit. It is also called the 10.4 Inter-Korean summit. Before the meeting, Roh Moo-hyun and his wife Kwon Yang-sook crossed the 38th parallel on foot, becoming the first South Korean president to cross the inter-Korean military demarcation line into North Korea. After the meeting, the two countries signed the Declaration on the Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity, agreeing to hold a summit, sign a peace treaty to formally end the Korean War, hold inter-Korean summits at any time, and develop economic cooperation projects.
