Tree snail is a common name that is applied to various kinds of tropical air-breathing land snails, pulmonategastropodmollusks that have shells, and that live in trees, in other words, are exclusively arboreal in habitat. Some other species of air-breathing land snails may sometimes be found on tree trunks, or even in the foliage of trees, but this does not mean they live their whole lives in trees, and they are not considered to be tree snails.

Orthalicus resesOrthalicus resesOrthalicus reses, the Stock Island tree snail or the Florida tree snail, is a species of large tropical air-breathing tree snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Orthalicidae. It was first described in 1830 by the American naturalist Thomas Say. The holotype, a specimen probably collected in Key West, was subsequently lost.Eua zebrinaEua zebrinaEua zebrina is a species of tropical air-breathing land snail, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Partulidae. This species is endemic to American Samoa.Amphidromus atricallosusAmphidromus atricallosusAmphidromus atricallosus is a species of air-breathing, arboreal land snails in the family Camaenidae.Land snailLand snailA land snail is any of the numerous species of snail that live on land, as opposed to the sea snails and freshwater snails. Land snail is the common name for terrestrialgastropodmollusks that have shells (those without shells are known as slugs). However, it is not always easy to say which species are terrestrial, because some are more or less amphibious between land and fresh water, and others are relatively amphibious between land and salt water.Gastropod shellGastropod shellThe gastropod shell is part of the body of many gastropods, including snails, a kind of mollusc. The shell is an exoskeleton, which protects from predators, mechanical damage, and dehydration, but also serves for muscle attachment and calcium storage. Some gastropods appear shell-less (slugs) but may have a remnant within the mantle, or in some cases the shell is reduced such that the body cannot be retracted within it (semi-slug).Common nameCommon nameIn biology, a common name is a name of a taxon or organism that is based on the normal language of everyday life. It may happen that the same name is used for different organisms in different regions ("robin" is used for several unrelated species of birds), or that the same organism is referred to by different names (cougar, puma, mountain lion, panther); and different languages use different names (cat, gato, chat, 貓...) Many, but not all, organisms have a common name.Amphidromus buelowiAmphidromus buelowiAmphidromus buelowi is a species of large-sized air-breathing tree snail, an arboreal gastropodmollusk in the family Camaenidae. SubspeciesAmphidromus buelowi buelowiFruhstorfer, 1905Amphidromus buelowi malalakensisJ. Parsons & Abbas, 2016DescriptionThe height of the shell varies between 45.3 mm and 51.1 mm, its width between 26.2 mm and 26.6 mm This chirally dimorphic species has large-sized swollen yellow-brown shell with black zigzag lines.GastropodGastropodGastropods (; previously known as Univalves; class Gastropoda) are a vast and diverse group of invertebrates within the phylum Mollusca, comprising the animals commonly known as snails and slugs. With an estimated 65,000 to 80,000 living species, they form the second-largest animal class after the insects. The fossil record of gastropods extends back to the Late Cambrian.TreeTreePerennial woody plant with elongated trunkCommon ash (Fraxinus excelsior), a deciduous broad-leaved (angiosperm) treeEuropean larch (Larix decidua), a coniferous tree which is also deciduousIn botany, a tree is a perennialplant with an elongated stem, or trunk, usually supporting branches and leaves.Mesembrinus multilineatusMesembrinus multilineatusMesembrinus multilineatus (formerly Drymaeus multilineatus), common name the lined treesnail, is a species of medium-sized air-breathing, tropical land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Bulimulidae.Antidrymaeus dormaniAntidrymaeus dormaniAntidrymaeus dormani, also known as the manatee treesnail, is a species of terrestrial snail in the family Bulimulidae. These snails were once used to control sooty mold on citrus trees in central Florida.Arboreal locomotionArboreal locomotionArboreal locomotion is the locomotion of animals in trees. In habitats in which trees are present, animals have evolved to move in them. Some animals may scale trees only occasionally (scansorial), but others are exclusively arboreal. The habitats pose numerous mechanical challenges to animals moving through them and lead to a variety of anatomical, behavioral and ecological consequences as well as variations throughout different species.MolluscaMolluscaMollusca is a phylum of protostomicinvertebrateanimals, whose members are known as molluscs or mollusks (). 86,600 extantspecies of molluscs are recognized, making it the second-largest animal phylum after Arthropoda. The number of additional fossil species is estimated between 60,000 and 100,000, and the proportion of undescribed extant species is very high. Many taxa remain poorly studied.
