LaserJet is a line of laser printers sold by HP Inc. (originally Hewlett-Packard) since 1984. The LaserJet was the world's first desktop laser printer. Canon supplies both mechanisms and cartridges for most HP laser printers; some larger A3 models use Samsung print engines. Although laser printers date back to the early 1970s, the first one, Xerox's model 1200, was not a desktop unit. The technology base was Xerox's photocopiers. Hewlett-Packard was first with a desktop unit.
