The population was 54,648 at the 2020 census, and was estimated at 57,493 in 2024, making it the third-most populous city in Mississippi and the largest suburb of Memphis by population. Southaven surpassed Bartlett, Tennessee as Memphis' largest suburb by population according to the 2024 Census estimates.
