A clock face is the part of an analog clock (or watch) that displays time through the use of a flat dial with reference marks, and revolving pointers turning on concentric shafts at the center, called hands (or arms). In its most basic, globally recognized form, the periphery of the dial is numbered 1 through 12 indicating the hours in a 12-hour cycle, and a short hour hand makes two revolutions in a day. A long minute hand makes one revolution every hour.

ClockClockA clock or chronometer is a device that measures and displays time. The clock is one of the oldest human inventions, meeting the need to measure intervals of time shorter than the natural units such as the day, the lunar month, and the year. Devices operating on several physical processes have been used over the millennia.24-hour analog dial24-hour analog dialClocks and watches with a 24-hour analog dial have an hour hand that makes one complete revolution—360°—in a full day, or 24 hours per revolution. In contrast, the more familiar 12-hour analog dial has an hour hand that completes two revolutions per day, or 12 hours per revolution. Twenty-four-hour analog clocks and watches are commonly used by logistics workers, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, nurses, pilots, scientists, and military personnel.Digital clockDigital clockA digital clock displays the time digitally (i.e. in numerals or other symbols), as opposed to an analogue clock. Digital clocks are often associated with electronic drives, but the "digital" description refers only to the display, not to the drive mechanism. (Both analogue and digital clocks can be driven either mechanically or electronically, but "clockwork" mechanisms with digital displays are rare.)WatchWatchA watch is a timepiece carried or worn by a person. It is designed to maintain a consistent movement despite the motions caused by the person's activities. A wristwatch is worn around the wrist, attached by a watch strap or another type of bracelet, including metal bands or leather straps. A pocket watch is carried in a pocket, often attached to a chain. A stopwatch is a type of watch that measures intervals of time.24-hour clock24-hour clockThe modern 24-hour clock is the convention of timekeeping in which the day runs from midnight to midnight and is divided into 24 hours. This is indicated by the hours (and minutes) passed since midnight, from 00(:00) to 23(:59), with 24(:00) as an option to indicate the end of the day. This system, as opposed to the 12-hour clock, is the most commonly used time notation in the world today, and is used by the international standard ISO 8601.SecondSecondThe second (symbol: s) is a unit of time derived from the division of the day, first into 24 hours, then into 60 minutes, and lastly into 60 seconds, for a total of 24 × 60 × 60 = 86400 seconds per day. That definition, based on 1⁄86400 of a rotation of the Earth, is still used by the Universal Time 1 (UT1) system. The current and formal definition in the International System of Units (SI) is more precise:The second [...]Dial (measurement)Dial (measurement)A dial is generally a flat surface, circular or rectangular, with numbers or similar markings on it, used for displaying the setting or output of a timepiece, radio, clock, watch, or measuring instrument. Many scientific and industrial instruments use dials with pointers to indicate physical properties.TimeTimeContinuous progression from past to futureNot to be confused with Thyme.Time is the continuous progression of existence that occurs in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, and into the future.MilitaryMilitaryOrganized force intended for warfareNATO military ceremony in Pabradė, Lithuania, November 2014A military, also known collectively as armed forces, is a heavily armed, highly organized force primarily intended for warfare. Militaries are typically authorized and maintained by a sovereign state, with their members identifiable by a distinct military uniform.Turn (angle)Turn (angle)The turn (symbol tr or pla) is a unit of plane angle measurement that is the measure of a complete angle—the angle subtended by a complete circle at its center. One turn is equal to 2πradians, 360 degrees or 400 gradians. As an angular unit, one turn also corresponds to one cycle (symbol cyc or c) or to one revolution (symbol rev or r). Common related units of frequency are cycles per second (cps) and revolutions per minute (rpm).
