Thomas Beaufort, Duke of Exeter (c. January 137731 December 1426) was an English military commander during the Hundred Years' War, and briefly Chancellor of England. He was the third of the four children born to John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, and his mistress Katherine Swynford. To overcome their problematic parentage, his parents were married in 1396, and he and his siblings were legitimated in 1390 and again in 1397. Hickleton Main Colliery
Hickleton Main Colliery was a coal mine in Thurnscoe, South Yorkshire, England from 1892 to 1988. In 1933 it employed 2,560 people underground and 500 on the surface. The coal mine's union lodge was the 400th recipient of the Order of Industrial Heroism. On 9 February 1944, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visited the colliery and thanked the miners for their war effort during World War II. In 2006 a black granite memorial was erected in Thurnscoe cemetery bearing the names of the 161 miners who died at the pit over the years. Montagu Hospital
Montagu Hospital is in Mexborough, a district of Doncaster, in South Yorkshire, England. It is managed by the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which also includes Bassetlaw District General Hospital and the Doncaster Royal Infirmary. History The hospital has its origins in a small cottage hospital which opened at Bank Street in Mexborough in 1890. After local officials decided to build a new hospital, it moved to a new site, leased from Andrew Montagu, in 1905. Local people paid a halfpenny a week to finance the venture which initially only had 14 beds. The Tarzan yell or Tarzan's jungle call is the distinctive, ululating yell of the character Tarzan as portrayed by actor Johnny Weissmuller in the films based on the character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs starting with '' Tarzan the Ape Man'' (1932). The yell was a creation of the movies based on what Burroughs described in his books as simply "the victory cry of the bull ape."
