As of the 2000 census, there were 2,392 people, 842 households, and 628 families living in the township. The population density was . There were 939 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the township was 97.95% White, 0.59% African American, 0.04% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.54% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.30%. There were 842 households, 30.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.6% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.4% were non-families. 20.9% of households were made up of individuals, and 9.9% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 2.95. The age distribution was 20.6% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 28.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% 65 or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 101.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.8 males. The median household income was $49,402 and the median family income was $56,800.
