Wangen has an area, , of . Of this area, 64.9% is used for agricultural purposes, while 10.3% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 21.3% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (3.6%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains). The Buechberg hill is located on the area of the municipality.
