Starting in 1940, the ''Thrum's Hawaiian Almanac and Annual'' was published by The Honolulu Star-Bulletin Ltd. In 1898, ''Illustrated Handbook of the Hawaiian Islands'' called ''Thrum's Annual'' "a valuable statistical work".
