Tangalan was formerly an '' arrabal'' of Makato. At the time of its creation, it included the following ''barrio''s: Tondog, Jawili, Dumatad, Afga, Baybay, Dapdap, Pudyot, Tagas, Tamalagon, Panayakan, Vivo, Lanipga, Napatag and Tamokoe.
