. The line is designed to enhance connectivity between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Inner Mongolian steppe. The project began on 8 December 2022 and is scheduled for completion by June 2026, with a planned construction period of 1,278 days. The line is approximately long and is built to support electrified trains operating at speeds of up to 160 km/h. As of early 2024, civil engineering, electrification, and station works along the Zhenglan Banner–Xilinhot section had progressed significantly. Construction paused during the winter season and resumed in April 2024.
