Life

Worsley was knighted at Whitehall on 29 December 1664 and succeeded to the baronetcy 11 September 1666. He was elected member of parliament for Newtown in November 1666, and served until his death. He was seated at Apuldercombe (or now Appuldurcombe), on the Isle of Wight, where his family had come into the possession of a large Tudor mansion (later replaced by the grand eighteenth century
