The Silver Goblets was established in 1850, replacing a previous competition the Silver Wherries. In 1895,
Tom Nickalls, father of
Guy Nickalls and
Vivian Nickalls Nickalls presented the Nickalls Challenge Cup to go with the Silver Goblets.
