Masoud was scheduled to defend his IBO title against
Peter McGrail in Birmingham, England, on 21 June 2025. On 4 June, it was revealed that Masoud had suffered an injury in training which would rule him out of the fight. The matchmakers at Matchroom Boxing brought in Romanian boxer Ionut Baluta as a replacement to fight McGrail.
