approved the establishment of the Women's Second Division League, in light of the continued growth of women's football in the country. In January 2024, the federation finalized the format of the Women's Second Division League. The competition consists of two phases, a regional group stage with
home-and-away fixtures, followed by a centralized final stage. The top teams from each group will progress, with the champion and runner-up earning promotion to the First Division, while two teams will be relegated from the same.
In October 2024, it was announced that 25 teams will take part in the inaugural edition. The teams will compete in the group stage in a regionally centralized format, with matches played in a double round-robin system (home and away). Eight teams will qualify for the final stage, which includes the top five teams and the three best second-placed teams.
The final rounds will be held in a centralized format, starting with the quarter-finals in a single-elimination format, where the first and second-placed teams in the final stages will be promoted to the First Division for the next season.
