On October 3, 2023, Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ with notable differences being using LCD screens of lower resolutions and refresh rate instead of AMOLED, a mid-range Exynos 1380 chipset instead of a high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, two speakers instead of four, a slower USB 2.0 port without DisplayPort support (no external monitor), Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz) instead of Wi-Fi 6E (6 GHz support), a different camera setup, and having fingerprint scanner on the power button instead of under the display.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series is the final flagship tablet series in the Galaxy Tab S series to support 32-bit applications.
