Development

The standards were developed by international initiative that aims at standardising and modernising ("industrialising") the mechanisms and processes for the exchange of statistical data and metadata among international organisations and their member countries. Version history

Version 1.0 of the SDMX standard was recognised as an ISO standard in 2005. SDMX version 2.1 was released in May 2011, and was approved by ISO as International Standard (ISO 17369:2013) in 2013. SDMX version 3.0 was published in September 2021.
