Roland Piétri was co-director of the Comédie des Champs-Élysées from 1944 to 1948 with Claude Sainval and for one season (1946–1947), directed the Centre dramatique de l'Est based in
Colmar Colmar (; ; or ) is a city and commune in the Haut-Rhin department and Alsace region of north-eastern France. The third-largest commune in Alsace (after Strasbourg and Mulhouse), it is the seat of the prefecture of the Haut-Rhin department ...
(later moved to Strasbourg and renamed The National Drama Center in 1954). There he established a troupe with the comedians
