Name

The name ''Rim'' means 'Rome'. Rim was first settled in the 1870s, when Peter Kralj built a house at the site. Kralj had served as a member of the Papal guard under
Pope Pius IX Pope Pius IX (; born Giovanni Maria Battista Pietro Pellegrino Isidoro Mastai-Ferretti; 13 May 1792 – 7 February 1878) was head of the Catholic Church from 1846 to 1878. His reign of nearly 32 years is the longest verified of any pope in hist ...
, and he was subsequently nicknamed ''Papež'' 'Pope'. Because the pope lives in Rome, the site where Kralj settled was given the name ''Rim'' as a joke.
