Personal life

In 2012, Sánchez-Silva married Italian cameraman Mario Biondo, who died after less than a year. His death was ruled as unintentional suicide by three coroners, and after the Spanish and Italian judiciary investigated the case. However, Italian judge Nicola Aiello, in a statement regarding the filing of the case as suicide, criticized the investigations carried out in Spain and the prosecutorial determination of suicide. Based on his impressions of the physical evidence and Sánchez-Silva's testimony, Aiello espoused the unproven theory that Biondo was killed by an unknown hand and subsequently placed in a position simulating a suicide. A three-part documentary series exploring the case, ''The Last Hours of Mario Biondo'', debuted on
