Name and history

It is one of twenty-six Perry Townships statewide. It was named in honor of Commodore Oliver H. Perry, who defeated the British on Lake Erie in 1814.


Government

The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1.
