After their debut, Namibia did not compete in another Africa-wide tournament until the 2011 ICC Africa Women's Twenty20 Championship in Uganda. In March 2024, Cricket Namibia awarded professional contracts to members of the women's team for the first time, with 10 players receiving a contract. As a result, Cricket Namibia became the first sporting body in Namibia to award central contracts to both men and women.
