Lincroft is in north-central Monmouth County, in the southwest corner of Middletown Township. It is bordered to the west by Holmdel Township. It is bordered to the south by the Swimming River Reservoir, across which is Colts Neck Township, while to the southeast it is bordered by the lake's outlet, the Swimming River, with the borough of Tinton Falls on the opposite side.
