The nature of Lehtisaari is more lush than that of Kuusisaari, especially in the southern part of the island, which functions as a park. There is a walking trail on the eastern shore and a narrow road to Kaskisaari paved with asphalt. Lehtisaari has been one of the areas in Helsinki where apartment prices have risen the least between 2009 and 2014 and in 2014 the prices have even come down. This is probably because the public traffic in the area has decreased and the diocese owning the rental lots has proposed a significant increase in rent, which would cause increases in costs in housing cooperatives, even though there are privately owned apartments in the area.
