Early life

Miles was born on 17 April 1929 in

, to a working class family as one of six children. He left school at age 12 or 13, but didn't have an interest in acting until his brother-in-law encouraged him to audition for the theatre.


Career

Miles' career began in theatre in 1949, appearing in J.C. Williamson productions. He then moved to the United Kingdom, touring England and Europe with the
