nonprofit charity and scholarship program for graduating high school students who are choosing to major in science or medicine, are struggling financially, have a 3.5 GPA, and are fans of metal music. Mangin came up with the idea for the charity after waking up from a dream in September 2014, wanting to combine "his love of science and heavy metal." Headbang For Science gave away its first scholarships in 2023, awarding $11,000 to three recipients.
