, on 3 January 1958. His maternal grandfather had emigrated to Mexico from China. He was ordained a priest by Manuel Castro Ruiz on 12 January 1988 for the Archdiocese of Yucatán. On 15 October 2009 he was appointed the coadjutor bishop of
