He won the Painting Prize at the Salón de Marinas, Galería Leopoldo Romañach, Caibarién, Villa Clara, in 1989. In 1992 he was recognized with a mention at the ''Awarded Saloon'', Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana.
