Brewing career

In 1975, McAuliffe found a rental property outside of

, and quit his job in order to start a brewery there. With about $5,000, he renovated the old warehouse and constructed brewing equipment such as a malt bin and a bottling apparatus.Ogle, p. 293 In October 1976, McAuliffe founded the
