Name and history

Island Creek Township was founded in 1806. It takes its name from the Island Creek, which runs through it. It is the only Island Creek Township statewide.

Government

The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1.
