In 1946, de Bèsche married Eva Rhedin (1918–1981), the daughter of Major Carl Rhedin and Dagmar (née Bäcklin). They had two children: Caroline (born 1947), and Gunilla (born 1949). de Bèsche was a foil and sabre fencer. He competed in three events at the
