town of Homer, except for a small section on the south side which is in the town of
Cortlandville. Homer is north of the city of
Cortland.
History

Central New York Military Tract

Amos Todd, his sister Rhoda Beebe, and her husband Joseph Beebe founded the community in 1791. The village was incorporated in 1835.
The town was the inspiration for "Homeville", the small town in the novel ''David Harum'' by
Edward Noyes Westcott.
