Biography

He studied at Riga’s 17th Vocational Technical School, Murjāņi Sports School, the woodcraft department of an art school, and Riga’s 23rd Evening Shift Secondary School, from which he graduated in 1972. From 1968 to 1975, he worked as a carpenter, locksmith, and design technician. He also worked as a bartender at the restaurants “Ruse” (1975–1990) and “Ščecina.” In 1987, Ķirsons founded the cooperative "Lido" and served as its director until 1991.
