Personal life

Thomas and his wife, Dolores Wozniak, were married in 1951 and had eight children before her death in 2012. He has 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He suffered a fall in 2021 which required a hospital stay. Despite the fall, Thomas was well enough to attend the Mets' Old Timers' Day in August 2022, albeit in a wheelchair.
