At the 2000 census, there were 412 people, 181 households, and 129 families in the borough. The population density was . There were 184 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the borough was 99.76% White and 0.24% African American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.73%. There were 181 households, 23.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.7% were married couples living together, 11.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.7% were non-families. 27.6% of households were made up of individuals, and 17.7% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.28 and the average family size was 2.74.
