History

The hospital was first opened in 1933 by Dr. Anantrai Jayantilal Mehta, also known as A.J. Mehta as a small clinic-nursing home. In 1955, the facility moved to Chetpet, evolving into a multispecialty

was incorporated on 4 October 1994. Today, Mr. Sameer Mehta serves as Chairman, Dr. Pranav Mehta as Director, and Mr. Dilip Mehta as Emeritus Chairman. The institution has expanded its clinical footprint across Chennai through its two campuses.


Expansion

In 2014, the hospital announced a new multi-acre campus near Thiruverkadu. In 2018, the Velappanchavadi campus (Global Campus) was inaugurated on 5.5 acres with 220 operational beds, aiming to scale up to 1,000 beds. According to the Chairman, Mr. Sameer Mehta, the campus includes emergency care, critical care units, and outpatient services.
