As of 2011 Indian Census, Dewa had a total population of 15,662, of which 8,231 were males and 7,431 were females. Population within the age group of 0 to 6 years was 2,347. The total number of literates in Dewa was 7,967, which constituted 50.9% of the population with male literacy of 54.4% and female literacy of 47.0%.
