History
In 1892, after a bridge was built across the Brazos River, Judge N. M. Dennis, a Parker County lawyer and farmer, developed the community to serve the farmers and ranchers of the area.
Geography
Located southwest of Fort Worth (nearest metropolitan area), southwest of Weatherford (nearest city), northwest of Granbury, and southeast of Mineral Wells; it is sandwiched between the communities of Brock (to the northwest) and Lipan (to the southwest) and Buckner (to the southeast).
