On 9 June 2025, Congré was found seriously injured at his home in

. When contacted, the Montpellier public prosecutor's office said it was “a suicide attempt”. It was revealed that the 40-year-old former player had been found unconscious and losing a lot of blood, due to a knife wound around his heart.
