DME Academy
DME Academy is a private sports training and educational institution located in Daytona Beach, Florida. Established in 2015 by Mike and Dan Panaggio, the academy offers comprehensive programs for middle school, high school, and post-graduate student-athletes, combining rigorous academics with elite athletic training.
History
Founded in 2015, DME Academy began as a post-graduate basketball training center. Over time, it expanded its offerings to include a full-time academic curriculum for grades 6–12, as well as a variety of sports programs. The academy emphasizes a holistic approach to student development, integrating academic excellence, athletic prowess, and character building. In addition to its Daytona Beach campus, DME Academy operates a sister academy in Sarasota, Florida. The Sarasota location offers similar academic and athletic development opportunities, serving as an extension of the DME model in a separate region of the state.
Campus and Facilities
Situated on a 10-acre campus adjacent to Daytona Beach International Airport, DME Academy boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including:
• A 47,000-square-foot field house with two full NBA courts, five youth courts, and seven regulation volleyball courts.
• A performance center equipped with modern strength and conditioning equipment.
• Athletic training rooms and recovery areas.
• An outdoor turf field measuring 60x40 yards for soccer and performance training.
• Four on-site sand/beach volleyball courts, with access to 14 additional courts on Daytona Beach.
• An 18,000-square-foot dormitory housing up to 80 students, featuring a commercial kitchen, cafeteria, laundry facilities, learning center, and student lounges.
Programs
DME Academy offers a range of programs tailored to student-athletes:
• Academics: Accredited middle and high school education, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses and college preparatory curricula.
• Athletics: Competitive teams in basketball, soccer, baseball, volleyball, beach volleyball, golf, and hockey.
• Post-Graduate: Seven-month programs focusing on athletic development and college recruitment.
• Camps and Clinics: Year-round camps, tournaments, and specialized training sessions for various sports
