History

The suburb was founded in 1937 at the time of King

with 553 stands on 59ha. The township was named after the coronation of the queen and dedicated it to the ex-servicemen of world war 2. When the coloured soldiers returned they were given this area as a gift for their service in the war. This is how the area became known as Coronationville.

Education

There are a total of three schools in the suburb. The Bernard Isaacs Primary School, Coronationville Secondary School and the St. Theresa's Convent School.
